Anxiety can affect our emotional and physical wellbeing as well as our sleep quality and patterns. Whether you're experiencing general anxiety or anxiety related to a specific event in your life, Sophrology can help you detach from anxious thoughts, enhance your resilience and feel more confident and positive. Throughout the sessions you will learn independent techniques to recognise your anxious thoughts, reconnect to your body, ground yourself in the present moment and generally feel more positive.

If you have sleep problems, you might find that they affect your levels of energy and mental abilities during the day. You might also feel more stressed and notice an impact on your mood. Sophrology is very effective in addressing sleep problems by reducing stress, relaxing muscles, and promoting better sleep habits through techniques such as controlled breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and positive imagery. It can enhance sleep quality and establish a soothing pre-sleep routine.

The adult with ADHD is more anxious than average. A recent study has shown that adults with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are four times more prone to anxiety disorders than people without ADHD. Many symptoms of ADHD are common to other disorders (anxiety, depression, bipolarity, etc.), making the diagnosis even more challenging to establish. It may even go unnoticed during childhood and manifest later, inevitably affecting self-esteem and relationships with others.
The techniques used in sophrology sessions help anchor a better presence in oneself and enhance concentration abilities. Work on self-image and confidence can also be initiated, providing benefits to both children and adults. Finally, practicing breathing exercises and visualisation helps regain calmness and serenity. The practice of sophrology can thus contribute to alleviating certain challenging symptoms of ADHD. -
Preventing burnout through sophrology is possible. It offers simple techniques to become aware of how you are feeling and avoid burnout. It helps identify the source of your stress and the consequences on your body and nervous system. At the first signs of burnout, Sophrology can help you establish a preventive approach with tailored exercises, and take action quickly before the situation worsens. Sophrology can also have a curative purpose. In such cases, sessions aim to alleviate the negative effects of stress through appropriate exercises and provide tools for recovering from burnout.

Sophrology can offer several benefits for managing menopause symptoms, providing a holistic approach that helps women navigate this transitional phase with greater ease and comfort. Here are some of the key benefits:
Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Menopause can often bring about increased stress and anxiety due to hormonal changes and the physical and emotional symptoms that accompany it. Sophrology techniques, such as deep breathing, relaxation exercises, and guided visualization, can help reduce stress levels and promote a sense of calm and well-being.
Improved Sleep Quality: Many women experience sleep disturbances, such as insomnia or night sweats, during menopause. Sophrology helps in promoting relaxation and easing the mind, which can improve sleep quality and help establish a more restful sleep pattern.
Hormonal Balance: Through its calming techniques and mindful breathing practices, sophrology can help balance the nervous system, potentially easing hormonal fluctuations and minimizing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and irritability.
Enhanced Emotional Well-Being: Menopause can bring about feelings of sadness, depression, or mood swings due to hormonal shifts. Sophrology encourages self-awareness and emotional regulation, helping women better understand and manage their emotions, leading to improved emotional well-being.
Pain Management: Some women experience joint pain or headaches during menopause. Sophrology’s relaxation techniques can help reduce the perception of pain and increase overall physical comfort.
Increased Energy Levels: By practicing sophrology regularly, women can learn how to manage their energy more effectively, reducing fatigue and increasing vitality, which is often impacted during menopause.
Body Awareness and Self-Confidence: Sophrology promotes a deeper connection with one’s body, helping women appreciate and accept the changes occurring during menopause. This increased body awareness can enhance self-confidence and self-esteem.

Sophrology is a powerful practice that combines relaxation, mindfulness, and visualisation techniques to enhance mental clarity and focus. For students preparing for exams and oral presentations, it offers tools to manage stress, boost confidence, and improve concentration. By practicing specific breathing exercises and guided visualisations, Sophrology helps calm pre-exam nerves and fosters a positive mindset, enabling individuals to perform at their best. It also cultivates resilience and sharpens mental acuity, making it an excellent method for tackling high-pressure academic challenges with ease.
